Colleen Hsia is a Senior Managing Director and serves as Head of Financial Services for the Americas in the FTI Strategic Communications segment. In this role, she leads a multidisciplinary team advising financial services clients on matters of corporate reputation, public affairs, financial communications and crisis communications. She is based in New York City.
Ms. Hsia is an industry veteran with two decades of business development and marketing expertise across diverse disciplines — asset management, alternatives, trading and liquidity, and investment banking.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Hsia oversaw global marketing and communications at Jane Street, a quantitative trading firm and liquidity provider. Prior to that, she spent seven years at BlackRock in senior roles in product strategy, sales and marketing in New York and Hong Kong.
Ms. Hsia has extensive experience in the hedge fund industry – starting as an investment analyst and later leading business development at Magnitude Capital, a fund of hedge funds she helped grow from its early days to a multi-billion-dollar business. She holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (“CAIA”) designation and sits on the New York City Executive Board of the CAIA Association. Colleen began her career as an investment banking analyst at Citigroup.
Ms. Hsia holds B.A. degrees in Economics-Political Science and East Asian Studies from Columbia College. She earned M.B.A. degrees from both Columbia Business School and London Business School and was selected as a Columbia Social Enterprise Fellow for her work at a Cambodian nonprofit. She is also a Board Member of Futures and Options, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering New York City’s underprivileged youth.
