FTI Consulting Recognized in 17 Categories
Receives "Disproportionately High Number of Client Recommendations”
Washington, D.C., May 5, 2016 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced that FTI Consulting has been named on Forbes magazine’s inaugural list of America’s Best Management Consulting Firms. FTI Consulting was recognized in 17 categories, including 10 industries and seven functional areas.
Forbes magazine, in collaboration with online statistics provider Statista, conducted two comprehensive online surveys to determine the inaugural list. The first surveyed over 7,250 professionals, including partners and project managers, from management consultancies, and asked them to recommend consultancies, excluding their own, across 15 industries and 16 functional areas. The second surveyed more than 1,300 management consultancy clients, and asked them to recommend consultancies they have worked with in the last four years.
Only 20 of the more than 250 consulting firms named to the inaugural list were recognized in more than 15 categories, showcasing the breadth and depth of FTI Consulting’s industry and functional expertise. Beyond being recognized in multiple categories, FTI Consulting had a "Disproportionately High Number of Client Recommendations."
“We have a terrific group of professionals at FTI Consulting with deep industry expertise across all five of our businesses. It is the capabilities and efforts of our teams that lead us to win a disproportionate number of jobs in these sectors and to support the most critical engagements out there,” said Steven H. Gunby, President and Chief Executive Officer at FTI Consulting. “I am most excited about our high number of client recommendations, which is a true testament to our deep client relationships and commitment to collaboration.”

Classic management consultancy firms, IT consultancies, advisory branches of auditing firms and consultancy branches of agencies were considered for this list. The list is based on two surveys; one with consulting management professionals and one with clients of the management consultancies. Both surveys were conducted online. For the online survey of consulting management professionals a total of 7,286 email addresses of partners and executives of management consultancies were identified. Firms included in the sample were identified through: lists of associations (e.g. AMCF), consulting directories (e.g. Consulting Bench), competitions (e.g. Vault) and company databases (e.g. Hoovers). The field period ran from November 16, 2015 to December 18, 2015. Following the survey of consulting management professionals, an online survey was conducted among 1,316 senior executives, who have previously worked with management consultancies. They were recruited through an online access panel. The field work lasted from January 21, 2016 to February 4, 2016. In each industry and functional area the management consultancies were sorted based on three, four or five stars. The groups were sorted into the classes based on the mean of the number of stars recommended per industry and per functional area. The ranking is comprised exclusively of consultancies that have a sufficient number of recommendations; a mention is therefore positive and indicates a vote of confidence from the market. The ranking was created through an elaborate process. The quality of management consultancies that are not included in the list is not disputed.
