The first session of the ArbitralWomen and ERA Pledge Quantum Experts Seminars Series in Paris was hosted on Wednesday 11 April by FTI Damages expert Juliette Fortin and Pascale Pasquer from Grant Thornton France, on the theme of “Basics of accounting as a prerequisite to loss assessment".
On Thursday 12 April, Matthias Cazier-Darmois participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by Jeantet Paris on the topic of “Arbitrating with States in CEE & CIS”, moderated by Ioana Knoll-Tudor from Jeantet Paris. Cosmin Vasile from Zamfirescu Racoti & Partners, Yas Banifatemi from Shearman & Sterling, Davor Babić from the University of Zagreb, Yasmin Mohammad from Vannin Capital, and Ivana Blagojević from the ICC International Court of Arbitration participated.
On Friday 13 April, Jeantet Paris organised a breakfast conference on “Arbitration in the energy and mining sectors”. Juliette Fortin participated in a roundtable discussion on the topic of “Nationalism of natural resources in Africa”, moderated by Thierry Lauriol, from Jeantet. Louis-Alexis Bret from Clifford Chance Paris, Capucine du Pac de Marsoulies from Jeantet Paris, and Professor Ibrahim Fadlallah, from Université de Paris X were the participants.
On Friday 13 April James Nicholson participated in a panel, organised by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer Paris, on “What makes a good expert”. The discussion particularly focused on whether experts were truly independent.
